Pau Cubarsí has named the Champions League as one of his main goals with Barcelona, despite the honours he has already collected at 19.
Europe remains the big aim
Speaking to RAC1’s Tu Diràs, the Barcelona defender said winning the competition with Barça would mean a great deal to him. "Winning the Champions League with Barcelona would be a dream for me," he said.
Cubarsí also said he values team trophies above individual awards, even after being named among the 30 Ballon d'Or nominees for 2026. He said his focus stays on his performances on the pitch rather than personal prizes.
Yamal backed, Barcelona lead discussed
Asked about the Ballon d'Or, Cubarsí backed teammate Lamine Yamal as a worthy winner and said he was surprised not to see Pedri and Raphinha among the final nominees.
He also discussed Barcelona’s six-point lead over Real Madrid at the top of La Liga, saying he had not expected the gap to be this large at this stage. Even so, he said the season is still long and Madrid cannot be ruled out of the title race.
Cubarsí added that Andreas Christensen’s injury has left Barça a little short of centre-backs, although he believes Hansi Flick still has enough options to cover absences.
