England have no concerns over Ivan Toney’s ability to enter Canada if he is needed there during the World Cup. The squad are continuing their preparations with the expectation that the Brentford striker can travel without issue.
That comes as Thomas Partey, the former Arsenal midfielder, has been denied entry to Canada after failing to secure a visa. Partey has faced sexual assault allegations, has denied the charges and is awaiting trial, but has not been convicted.
Toney is in a different position. He is on bail after being arrested in London in connection with an assault, but he has not been charged. On that basis, England believe his travel to Canada would not be a problem.
If England finish second in their group, they would be due to play in Toronto on 2 July. The squad are currently staying at a luxury hotel in Kansas City, Missouri, while players and staff watch the NBA Finals. Supporters have also been urged to arrive early at stadiums to avoid long entry queues.
