FIFA is planning a longer half-time break for the 2026 World Cup final at MetLife Stadium in New York on Sunday, turning the match into a bigger spectacle.
The standard 15-minute interval is expected to be extended to at least 20 minutes, with some reports suggesting it could run to 25 or 30 minutes to allow a full stage show.
The ceremony is being designed as a global festival-style event for fans in the stadium and millions watching on television.
Coldplay singer Chris Martin is involved in selecting performers. Names linked with the show include Justin Bieber, Shakira, BTS members, Madonna and Burna Boy.
There has also been talk of appearances from characters from The Muppet Show and Sesame Street, underlining FIFA's plan for a family-friendly finale.
Other names mentioned for the closing ceremony include Laura Pausini, Nicole Scherzinger and Robbie Williams, while Tom Cruise has also been discussed for a special appearance.
