Rapid start on Instagram
Hansi Flick reached one million Instagram followers less than 24 hours after opening his official account on Thursday, 29 October, in a fast start for the Barcelona head coach.
Flick launched the account with a first post alongside Barcelona’s official page. In his welcome message to supporters, he wrote: “Hello cules! I’m happy to be on Instagram and to share moments from daily life in Barcelona with you. Thank you very much for your support. Long live Barca!”
An hour after the account went live, it had about 283,000 followers. The total kept rising through the rest of the day and moved past seven figures before the first 24 hours were up.
What he posted
Flick followed 27 accounts at the start: Barcelona’s official account and 26 first-team players. He also posted one message and two stories in his first hours on the platform.
One of those stories referred to the train accident in the Toledo area. Flick expressed sympathy with the victims’ families and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
