Rudi Garcia praised Belgium’s display after they beat the United States 4-1 and reached the quarter-finals of the 2026 World Cup.
Garcia said the performance reflected a collective effort from start to finish. He said his side controlled the match throughout and carried out the game plan well.
He also thanked supporters back home who stayed up through the night to watch the game. Garcia said they should be proud of the players and of Belgium’s standing in world football.
The Belgium coach said the only dark note was the injury to Amadou Onana. He added that the team felt obliged to keep pushing in the second half for Onana’s sake, to finish the job and secure their place in the last eight.
