Haiti head coach Sebastien Migne backed his players after they lost 1-0 to Scotland in their opening Group C match at the 2026 World Cup.
Migne said his side fought until the end and matched an experienced, well-organised opponent. He argued the result did not reflect the effort or attitude shown by his team.
He also pointed to chances in the second half that could have changed the game.
"My players fought with everything they had and kept trying to get a result until the final minute," Migne said after the match. "We played against an experienced and organised team, but we showed that Haiti did not come here just to take part in the World Cup."
Haiti still have two group games left, against Brazil and Morocco. Migne said the defeat would not define their campaign and added that the team would keep pushing for points in the remaining fixtures.
