Harry Kane won the Gerd Müller Trophy at the 2026 Ballon d'Or ceremony after the best goalscoring season of his career.
Kane’s record season
The Bayern Munich forward was named the world’s best striker at the 70th Ballon d'Or ceremony at London’s Palladium. The award goes to the top goalscorer of the year, with finishing record weighing heavily in the decision.
Kane scored 61 goals in 51 matches for Bayern in the 2025-26 season, his highest return in club football. He also scored 36 times in the Bundesliga, finishing as the division’s top scorer and winning the European Golden Shoe for the second time.
Goals for club and country
The 33-year-old added 12 goals for England, taking his combined club and international tally to 73 for the season. He also played a major part in Bayern’s Bundesliga and German Cup wins.
This was the second time Kane has won the Gerd Müller Trophy. He first shared the prize with Kylian Mbappé in 2024.
