Manchester United are weighing Sebastian Hoeneß as a possible future head coach, according to reporting from the Independent and Futbali.
Hoeneß under consideration
Futbali says the Stuttgart manager has drawn attention from major European clubs after his recent work in the Bundesliga. Miguel Delaney, senior football writer at the Independent, also says Hoeneß is one of the coaches under review at Old Trafford as United look at options for the dugout.
Hoeneß, 44, has led Stuttgart since April 2023 and has built a strong record there. In his first full season, he took the club to second in the Bundesliga and secured Champions League qualification. Stuttgart then won the DFB-Pokal in 2025 under his management.
Stuttgart contract remains a hurdle
Any move would be difficult for United to complete. Hoeneß is under contract until 2028, and Stuttgart do not want to lose a coach who has transformed their results.
United's coaching situation remains part of the club's wider sporting planning as they continue to examine different options.
