Manchester United lost 4-1 to Como in the Champions League on Wednesday night, leaving Michael Carrick under fresh pressure after one of the club’s weakest starts in recent memory.
Como pull clear
Nico Paz scored twice, in the 2nd and 57th minutes, while Tasos Douvikas added a goal on 49 minutes and Jacobo Ramón made it 4-0 in the 76th. Joshua Zirkzee scored United’s only goal in stoppage time.
The defeat came in United’s third group-stage match of the 2026-27 campaign. It followed a run that has brought only two wins in 11 competitive games this season.
Poor start in all competitions
United have also drawn four and lost five of those 11 matches. Their only victories have come against Ipswich Town, a 5-2 Premier League win, and Sabah Azerbaijan, a 4-0 Champions League victory.
