Benfica have won 17 of Marco Silva's first 20 matches in charge, with the Portuguese coach having replaced José Mourinho in summer 2026.
Fast start at the Estádio da Luz
Silva has overseen only three matches without a win, and Benfica have scored 62 goals under him so far. That has helped their attacking output and style of play.
In the Europa League, Benfica sit top of the table under Silva. In the Portuguese league, they are second, with Porto and Sporting also in the title race.
A sharper attack
Portuguese newspaper A Bola also reported on Benfica's improvement in front of goal and said the club's attacking numbers have risen sharply compared with last season.
Silva arrived with a strong record from Fulham, and Benfica have tied him to a contract through 2028, with an option to extend by a further year. His early run has already given the club a different look from the one they had before his appointment.
