San Siro Stadium will become a thing of the past.

Inter and AC Milan have unveiled plans for a new stadium called Generali Stadium, which they want to use from the 2031-32 season and which would end their long stay at San Siro.

The new ground

The two clubs presented the project on Thursday, 29 October 2026, at Sforza Castle in Milan. The stadium is planned to hold 71,500 spectators and will be designed by Foster + Partners and Manica.

Generali has been named as the main naming-rights partner, and its name will be on the venue from the opening.

Construction and San Siro

Construction is due to begin in 2028, with the first match scheduled for the 2031-32 season if the necessary approvals are granted.

San Siro is expected to be almost completely demolished, although parts of the old structure will be kept. The move would bring down one of football's most recognisable stadiums and replace it with a modern home for Milan's two biggest clubs.
