AC Milan: History, Honours and the Legacy of the Rossoneri

AC Milan is one of the most successful clubs in Italian and European football. Founded on 16 December 1899, the Milan-based club is recognised by its red-and-black colours, its passionate supporters and a history shaped by domestic titles and major European nights.

Known as I Rossoneri and Il Diavolo, AC Milan have won 19 Serie A titles and five Coppa Italia trophies. Their European record includes seven European Cup and UEFA Champions League titles, making them one of the most decorated clubs in the competition's history. Milan have also won the UEFA Super Cup five times and the European Cup Winners' Cup twice.

The club has been home to generations of influential players, including Paolo Maldini, Franco Baresi, Marco van Basten, Kaká and Andriy Shevchenko. AC Milan's history is closely linked to the San Siro stadium and the Derby della Madonnina against city rivals Inter.
