PSG have become only the third club to win the European Super Cup in back-to-back seasons after a 2-1 victory over Aston Villa in 2026.
Rare company
The French champions had already lifted the trophy in 2025 after beating Tottenham, and have now followed that up by retaining it against Villa. Before PSG, only AC Milan and Real Madrid had managed the same feat.

Milan were the first to defend the trophy, winning it in 1989 and 1990. They beat Barcelona in the first of those finals, then saw off Sampdoria a year later.
Real Madrid repeated the record more recently, winning in 2016 and 2017. They beat Sevilla after extra time in 2016, then defeated Manchester United 2-1 in Skopje a year later.
PSG's place in Europe
PSG had never won the Super Cup before 2025, but now have two straight titles in the competition. The run underlines how far the club has moved in Europe, alongside its domestic dominance.
