Mohamed Wahbi has told Morocco not to fear Brazil ahead of their high-stakes World Cup clash in New Jersey on Sunday morning.
The 49-year-old coach said the match would show where his team stands, but insisted Morocco enter the tournament in good condition after a strong recent rise on the world stage.
Wahbi, who took over from Walid Regragui in March, said Morocco must believe in the route that has brought them this far.
"We must have faith in ourselves and the path we have taken," he said. "We should not be afraid of Brazil, but we must respect them."
He also brushed aside talk that the opposition are a diminished force, adding: "Many people say this is not the old Brazil, but it is still Brazil."
Morocco reached the 2022 World Cup semi-finals and arrived at the 2026 finals aiming to show that run was no one-off.
