Norway made the biggest jump in FIFA’s latest rankings after beating Brazil 2-1 in the last 16 of the 2026 World Cup.
The result took Norway into the quarter-finals and earned them 33.61 ranking points, the largest gain of any team that has reached the last eight.
Norway started the tournament 31st in the world and has climbed 12 places to 19th, moving into FIFA’s top 20.
The victory over Brazil stands out as one of the tournament’s biggest shocks and, on the latest changes, the best ranking improvement among all World Cup sides.
