Mexico's goalscorer named Player of the Match against Ecuador

Julian Quinones was named man of the match after Mexico’s 2-0 win over Ecuador in the 2026 World Cup round of 16 at the Azteca Stadium.

The Mexico forward scored the opening goal and also created the second as the hosts took control of the tie in Mexico City.

The result sent Mexico through with a clean-sheet victory over Ecuador in front of their home support.
