Rodri has said he would consider Barcelona if he leaves Manchester City after the World Cup, while admitting he once expected to finish his career at the Etihad.
City exit no longer off the table
Speaking to Mundo Deportivo, the 2024 Ballon d'Or winner said he had always thought he would end his football career at Manchester City because the club gave him everything and he felt part of one of the best generations in English football under Pep Guardiola.
He added that he had never thought about leaving before, but a change of cycle made him reflect after the World Cup. Rodri said that fresh experience might suit him better and named Barcelona as his choice.
Praise for Raphinha
Rodri also singled out Raphinha for praise, saying the forward's current physical condition has surprised him.
He said anyone looking at Raphinha would think he is 24 or 25, despite the pair being the same age. Rodri added that he already knew Raphinha's quality, but was struck by how good he looks physically right now.
