Romario has called for Carlo Ancelotti to be dismissed immediately after Brazil’s 2-1 defeat to Norway in the World Cup last 16.
Speaking at an event in Rio de Janeiro, the former Brazil striker said the Italian should not remain in charge after what he described as a disaster. He said he would end the contract straight away if he were running the Brazilian FA.
Brazil lost to two Erling Haaland goals, with Neymar scoring their only reply from the penalty spot. Bruno Guimarães also missed a penalty while the game was level, a chance that might have changed the outcome.
Romario also questioned Ancelotti’s tactical choices and said the team’s exit could not be justified. The defeat has intensified pressure on the coach, with Brazil facing another painful World Cup elimination and growing anger among supporters.
