Cristiano Ronaldo has moved to 981 career goals after scoring in Al Nassr’s 3-1 win over Uzbek side Neftchi in the AFC Champions League Elite. Lionel Messi has 934 after a two-goal display for Inter Miami against D.C. United.
Ronaldo closes in
The Portugal forward, now 41, has scored across spells with Sporting Lisbon, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus, Al Nassr and his national team. A large share of that total came during his years at Real Madrid.
Ronaldo is now 19 goals short of 1,000. Messi needs 66 more to reach the same mark.

Messi keeps pace
Messi, the former Argentina captain, added two more in Inter Miami’s 4-0 win over D.C. United. His tally now stands at 934 career goals.
