Cristiano Ronaldo is now 21 goals away from 1,000 career goals after scoring in Al Nassr’s 2-1 win over Abha.
Ronaldo on the scoresheet again
The Portugal forward headed in from a corner in the first half to open the scoring for Al Nassr. It was his third goal in five matches this season, taking his official career tally to 979.
At 41, Ronaldo continues to add to a scoring record that has already stretched across club and international football. No player has reached 1,000 official goals in professional football, and Ronaldo would become the first if he gets there.
Al Nassr stay in touch at the top
The result gave Al Nassr a fifth win in six rounds of the Saudi Pro League. They stayed on 15 points and remained in the title race.
Ronaldo’s total is now edging closer to the landmark week by week, with the forward still playing for Al Nassr and Portugal.
