Mohamed Salah’s future remains unsettled, with reports in the British press saying Al Hilal and Al Qadsiah are continuing talks over a move to Saudi Arabia.
The Sun says negotiations have not reached a final stage because the two sides remain apart on financial terms. Salah is understood to be seeking one of the biggest contracts in football, matching his standing as one of the game’s leading players in recent years.
All parties are still believed to want the deal done, but agreement over the structure of the package is the main hurdle.
Salah’s Liverpool contract runs until summer 2026, after nine seasons at Anfield. He would then be available on a free transfer.
Interest from Saudi clubs is not new. CBS Sports and Fabrizio Romano have previously reported that Salah was among the early targets of the Saudi project, while Al Ittihad made a bid worth more than £150m in summer 2023 that Liverpool rejected.
Salah is said to earn about £400,000 a week at Liverpool. Separate reports have also linked Michael Edwards, who worked closely with Salah during his 2017 move to Liverpool, with a possible role at Al Hilal.
