Spain’s women have stretched their lead at the top of FIFA’s latest ranking after a strong international window, moving further clear of the United States.
Spain stay well clear at the summit
With Sonia Bermúdez in charge, Spain beat one opponent 2-0 and drew 2-2 in the United States to move 31.68 points ahead of the US in the newest update. The world and Nations League champions have now spent 685 days at the top, a spell matched only by the United States, Germany and Sweden since the ranking began in 2003.
Spain first reached No 1 in December 2023, slipped to third in August 2024, then returned to the summit in August 2025.
Denmark break into the top 10
Germany remain third, with England, Japan, France, Brazil, Sweden, Canada and Denmark filling places four to 10. Denmark were the only change inside the top 10, moving up to 10th after a 4-3 win and a 1-1 draw against Canada in friendlies.
The Danes had not held that place since August 2010.
Malawi made the biggest climb, rising 49 places to 104th after two heavy wins over Zimbabwe in African Olympic qualifying. Egypt fell 14 places to 113th after missing the window.
