Thomas Tuchel has told his England players to put the past to one side ahead of their meeting with Norway.
Speaking before the game, Tuchel said England are the home of world football and Wembley is its cathedral, which is why the trophy should come home. But he added that the squad cannot dwell on the fact that the Three Lions have not won a major honour since 1966.
He said England must avoid becoming overconfident and should stop looking backwards. Tuchel said that approach is shared across the camp and described it as drawing a line in the sand.
The England coach also said players such as Harry Kane and Jude Bellingham had moved on from the win over Mexico and now needed to focus fully on Norway.
Tuchel said he would give his players support and the right setting to show their technical quality. He added that England should play front-foot football, with aggression, unity, motivation, hunger and courage forming part of the national side’s identity.
