The United States take on Belgium at Lumen Field in Seattle tonight with a place in the World Cup 2026 quarter-finals on the line.
The US reached the last 16 after beating Bosnia and Herzegovina 2-0, despite a red card for a key player. Belgium came through a more chaotic route, edging Senegal 3-2 after a comeback in their knockout tie.
Folarin Balogun is available for the Americans after FIFA suspended his one-match ban, giving the hosts a major boost in attack. The US have leaned on Christian Pulisic and Weston McKennie during the tournament, while Belgium still carry a threat through Romelu Lukaku and Kevin De Bruyne.
Belgium also have the stronger head-to-head record. They beat the US 5-2 in a friendly in March 2026 and knocked them out at the group stage of the 2014 World Cup.
That history gives the Americans added motivation, but Belgium bring more knockout experience into what looks set to be a tight contest in Seattle.
