The date for Zinedine Zidane's unveiling has been announced.

Philippe Diallo has said France will appoint Didier Deschamps’ replacement before the end of the month, as the long-serving coach prepares to step down after 14 years in charge.

Diallo, president of the French Football Federation, confirmed on camera that Deschamps’ time with the national team is ending. He stopped short of naming Zinedine Zidane, who is widely expected to take over, because no contract has been signed publicly.

Deschamps, who has led France since 2012, is the country’s longest-serving and most decorated head coach. He is in charge for what is set to be his final match on the bench.

Speaking to beIN Sports before the third-place match, Diallo also praised France’s World Cup campaign, saying reaching the semi-finals for the third consecutive tournament was a strong return even if the team fell short of the final.

He added that Spain were the better side in the semi-final and said France now want to finish the tournament with a result that gives supporters something to smile about.
