Jude Bellingham scored his 50th goal for Real Madrid in a 3-0 win over Racing Santander, moving past Zinedine Zidane’s tally for the club.
The goal and the record
Bellingham struck in the 21st minute of Real Madrid’s La Liga matchweek 11 win, making it his second goal of the game. He was through on the goalkeeper, kept his composure and rolled the ball into an empty net.
The England midfielder reached 50 goals in 154 matches for Madrid. Zidane scored 49 times in 227 games for the club, so Bellingham has passed the former France midfielder’s total in 73 fewer appearances.
What Bellingham said
After the match, Bellingham said: “Reaching 50 goals with Real Madrid is a very special thing, not only for me and my dreams, but it also means a lot for the team.”
That goal made him the 50th player in Real Madrid’s history to reach at least 50 goals for the club.
