Marco Cucurella said Real Madrid have a bright future after their 4-1 win over Real Sociedad, and called playing alongside Kylian Mbappé a major bonus.
Madrid recover after slow first half
Madrid were not at their best in the opening period, but they finished strongly to take the three points and move to the top of the table with six points.
Cucurella, who came on as a substitute in the second half, said the team showed strong character after conceding on a counter-attack. He added that the second half was played “very well” and that Madrid acted like a big team when everyone put in a full shift.
First Bernabéu appearance
The defender also described his first minutes at the Bernabéu as a special moment. He said he could not have asked for much more, with his debut at home coming alongside Madrid’s first win in front of their supporters.
Cucurella said the key target remains three points in every match, and added that the squad should keep building on its strong start. He also said the club is still getting to know him, and that Sunday’s game offers a chance to make it three wins in a row.
