Real Madrid captain Federico Valverde praised Kylian Mbappé after his side beat Real Sociedad 4-1 in their postponed La Liga opener.

Valverde said Madrid started well and showed a strong desire to win, but lost some patience after taking the lead. He added that the half-time talk helped the team settle, and said the second half was much better.
He said Madrid worked on pressing and corrected a few things during the break, which made them look more comfortable and in control after the interval.
Praise for Mbappé
Valverde said Mbappé should be enjoyed and fed the ball as often as possible so he can keep scoring and feel relaxed and happy. He added that what Mbappé produced on this occasion will be repeated across the season.
The midfielder, who wore the captain’s armband, called the moment unforgettable and said his family were in the stadium. He finished by saying the squad were eager to return to the Santiago Bernabéu and were pleased to give the win to the fans.
