Stuttgart forward Ermedin Demirović scored three times in 12 minutes against Viking to post one of the fastest hat-tricks in Champions League history and seal a 3-1 win for the German side.
Rapid treble in Norway
Demirović opened the scoring in the 20th minute, doubled his tally in the 26th and completed his hat-trick in the 32nd minute. Stuttgart’s other goals were all his, as the Bosnian striker decided the game almost before the hour had settled into place.
The treble made him the fifth player in Champions League history to score three times before the 33rd minute of a match, according to Opta. Only four players have reached that mark faster.
Where the record stands
Robert Lewandowski tops the list after needing 23 minutes to finish a hat-trick against Salzburg in March 2022. Marco Simone follows with a 24th-minute treble against Rosenborg in 1996.
Kylian Mbappé completed his hat-trick by the 29th minute for Real Madrid against Olympiakos, while Vangelis Pavlidis reached his third goal in the 30th minute for Benfica against Barcelona in 2025.
For Stuttgart, it was also the club’s first hat-trick in Champions League history.
