Victor Gyokeres has urged Sweden to be almost flawless without the ball if they are to upset France in the World Cup last-16 tie.
France, the 2022 World Cup runners-up, are expected to have the upper hand when the teams meet in New Jersey on Tuesday. Gyokeres, speaking to reporters at Sweden's camp in Dallas, said his side must stay fully focused and make the most of limited chances.
"If we want any chance of causing an upset, we have to be nearly perfect in defensive organisation and use the few opportunities we get as well as possible," he said.
Sweden reached the knockout stage after an uneven group campaign that included a 5-1 win over Tunisia, a 1-1 draw with Japan and a heavy defeat by the Netherlands. Gyokeres said the squad still feels mentally strong and capable of competing with any opponent.
The Arsenal forward also looked ahead to a possible meeting with club team-mate William Saliba, calling the prospect special and saying he was looking forward to facing him.
