Erling Haaland: We'll fight against Brazil for our dream

Erling Haaland has admitted Norway face a huge task against Brazil after helping his side reach the last 16 of the 2026 World Cup.

Norway beat Ivory Coast 2-1 to secure a place in the knockout stage and will now play Brazil in New Jersey on Sunday. Haaland scored in the win, taking his World Cup tally to five goals, and described the campaign as a major moment for Norwegian football.

He said the run had been an "incredible adventure" and spoke of the emotion around the team’s progress, adding that seeing supporters in tears had meant a great deal to him. Haaland also said the achievement could change the future of football in Norway.

Looking ahead to Brazil, the 25-year-old was blunt about the size of the challenge. He said Norway do not have many chances on paper, but added that the team have prepared for matches at this level and will go into the game with confidence.
