Zlatan Ibrahimović said Spain's 2026 World Cup win was a victory for attractive football after La Roja beat Argentina in the final.
Speaking as a pundit in the Fox Sports studio, the former Sweden striker praised Spain for staying faithful to their footballing identity throughout the tournament.
"Today football won," Ibrahimović said. "The way Spain play and the football they showed during this tournament is exactly what every fan wants to see."
He also pointed to criticism aimed at attacking teams when results do not go their way, arguing Spain deserved reward for trusting their approach.
Turning to the final, Ibrahimović said Argentina did not manage a shot on target and added that Spain had the best defence in the tournament.
He closed by revisiting his pre-tournament prediction. Asked before the competition began who would win, he had backed Spain — and he made sure to remind viewers that he had got it right.
