Lamine Yamal wins third straight Kopa Trophy

Lamine Yamal has won the Kopa Trophy for a third straight year.

Record at the Ballon d'Or

The Barcelona winger received the award at the 2026 Ballon d'Or ceremony on Monday night at the Palladium in London. The Kopa Trophy goes to the world's best player under the age of 21.

Yamal, 19, saw off competition from Pau Cubarsí, Yan Diomande, Lennart Karl and Warren Zaïre-Emery to keep the prize.

Three wins in three years

He first won the Kopa Trophy in 2024, then again in 2025, and has now made it three in a row. That makes him the first player in the history of the award to win it three times.

Yamal claimed his first Kopa Trophy at 17, and reached three wins only two years later.
