Liverpool will only let Cody Gakpo leave for Tottenham if they sign a suitable replacement first and Spurs pay their asking price.
Spurs push for left-sided cover
Tottenham have made Gakpo their main target for the left side of attack after Eli Junior Kroupi’s injury. Early talks between the clubs are understood to have been encouraging, and Gakpo is said to be open to the move because he is concerned about his minutes.
Liverpool are still reluctant to sell the Netherlands international. His ability to play across several attacking roles, along with Hugo Ekitike’s long-term injury, has kept him important to Arne Slot’s squad.
Liverpool hold firm on valuation
According to Anfield Watch, Liverpool want £72m for Gakpo. He has four years left on his contract, and the club are not prepared to let him go for less than their valuation.
