Manchester City have officially announced the signing of Elliott Anderson from Nottingham Forest on a five-year contract.
The 23-year-old England midfielder arrives at the Etihad after two seasons in which he established himself as one of the Premier League's standout midfielders. City had been among the main suitors in recent weeks, with Manchester United also linked as they looked to strengthen their midfield.
Anderson said City were his choice as soon as he knew they wanted to sign him. "City is one of the biggest clubs in the world and playing here is a great honour for me," he said through the club's official channels.
City football director Hugo Viana described Anderson as "one of the most outstanding young midfielders in world football."
