Jesse Marsh said Canada were the better team for much of their 3-0 defeat to Morocco, despite the result ending their World Cup run.
The Canada head coach argued his side handled the game well in the first half and at the start of the second, but could not make their pressure count in the final third. He said Morocco showed more quality where it mattered and took control of the key moments.
Marsh added that Canada’s game plan, ideas and belief allowed them to challenge a strong opponent, and said one passage of play changed the match by turning it into a 1-0 game. He also said the details decided the contest after that.
He praised Canada’s supporters too, saying they could take pride in backing a team that played with courage rather than sitting back.
