Kylian Mbappé has reached 70 Champions League goals in 98 matches, a tally that puts him among the competition’s all-time leading scorers as a new season gets under way.
Record pace across three clubs
Mbappé’s route to 70 has come across three clubs. He scored six times in nine appearances for Monaco, added 42 goals in 64 games for Paris Saint-Germain and has now made it 22 in 25 for Real Madrid.
That pace stands out even in elite company. Only Lionel Messi and Robert Lewandowski got to 70 Champions League goals in fewer appearances, while Mbappé’s total also places him among the competition’s six highest scorers.
Madrid’s bigger target
The next milestone is not just personal. Mbappé is still chasing Champions League success with Real Madrid, and the new campaign gives him another chance to add the trophy that has so far eluded him in Spain.
A move on to Cristiano Ronaldo’s record of 140 goals remains a long way off, but at 27, Mbappé has already put himself on a trajectory that keeps the landmark in view.
