Don't worry; the game will take place as scheduled

Norway’s World Cup quarter-final against England is currently expected to go ahead on Saturday night at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.

Rumours of a possible delay had circulated in recent hours because of concerns over the weather, but the latest forecast suggests the match will be played as planned. Organisers have not changed the scheduled kick-off time.

The conditions are likely to be uncomfortable, though. Forecasts point to temperatures of around 33C, along with high humidity, which could make the game a physical test for both sides.

Data from the US National Weather Service gives a 33% chance of rain during the match and only a 6% chance of lightning, suggesting there is no immediate threat to the fixture.

FIFA will still apply its safety protocol. If lightning is detected near the stadium, the match will be suspended until it is safe to continue.

Unless the weather changes sharply before kick-off, Norway and England are set to meet as scheduled for a place in the last four of the 2026 World Cup.
