World Cup 2026 has already set new attendance marks, with one matchday drawing 426,834 spectators across six games in six stadiums.
That total beat an earlier record set on the day Argentina faced Algeria. Four other matches were played that day, and combined attendance reached 281,223.
Mexico City’s Azteca Stadium has been one of the busiest venues in the tournament. Mexico’s matches against South Africa, Ecuador and England, along with Uzbekistan v Colombia, were all played in front of 80,824 spectators.
MetLife Stadium in New York-New Jersey has also delivered large crowds. Brazil v Morocco pulled in 80,663 fans, the same figure recorded for Norway v Senegal, Ecuador v Germany and Panama v England.
Argentina have also played in front of strong support. Their opening game against Algeria in Kansas City drew 69,045 spectators, while the match against Austria in Dallas brought in 70,649.
At the other end of the scale, Ghana v Panama in Toronto was the least-attended match so far, with 42,942 in the crowd.
