Bayern weigh Olise renewal with huge release clause

Bayern Munich are exploring a contract extension for Michael Olise, with reports suggesting the new deal could include a release clause worth as much as €250 million.

Bayern want to secure Olise long term

The proposed figure has not been finalised or made official, and current reporting places the clause somewhere between €150 million and €250 million. Bayern signed Olise from Crystal Palace in the summer of 2024 on a deal running until June 2029.

His form has quickly made him one of the club’s key players. In the 2025-26 season, the French winger became one of the Bundesliga’s most influential performers and reached 15 goals and 15 assists in a single campaign, a mark only Jadon Sancho had previously matched.

European interest has increased the pressure

Interest from top European clubs has also sharpened Bayern’s focus on his future. Real Madrid and Liverpool have both been linked with Olise in recent months, and there have even been reports about his interest in a possible move to Madrid.

Bayern, though, remain intent on keeping him in Munich. If a new contract with a €250 million release clause is agreed, it would rank among the highest numbers ever attached to a player in football.
