Bayern Munich are exploring a possible winter move for Dani Olmo, with the Barcelona forward on their shortlist as they prepare backup plans for attack, according to Sky Sports News. The report says no formal offer or agreement is in place.
Why Olmo is being tracked
Bayern are said to be looking ahead to growing interest in Jamal Musiala and Michael Olise, and Olmo is viewed as a familiar option after his spell in Germany with RB Leipzig. He spent four seasons there before joining Barcelona.
Olmo scored 29 goals and set up 34 more for Leipzig, then moved to Barcelona in 2024 for about €55 million. Sky Sports says he has since registered 20 goals and 20 assists in close to 100 games for the Catalan club.
Barcelona hold the upper hand
A deal would not be straightforward. Olmo's contract runs until the summer of 2030, giving Barcelona significant leverage, and Sky Sports has put a likely fee at around €70 million.
He has also not been an automatic starter at the start of this season, with competition from Fermín López limiting his league starts. Even so, he remains part of Hansi Flick's plans and played a major role in Spain's summer run to the 2026 World Cup title.
