Ángel Di María has backed Argentina’s players hours after their 2026 World Cup final defeat by Spain, praising the current squad in a social media message.
According to ILNA, the former international told the team that people in Argentina are proud of them and said their run in the tournament has helped bring the country together again.
Di María also said this group has a special place in Argentina’s football history. He pointed to achievements such as reaching five consecutive finals as a mark he believes cannot be taken away from this generation.
