Real Madrid’s move for Yan Diomande has entered the final stages, with multiple sources saying the deal is now effectively done.
Agreement in place
According to Fabrizio Romano, all parties have reached full agreement and only the travel clearance for the Ivory Coast winger remains before he can complete a medical and sign his contract. Radio COPE also reported that Diomande should already be considered a Real Madrid player, with the club preparing a formal announcement.
Ramón Álvarez said the final fee will exceed €138 million, which would make Diomande Real Madrid’s record signing if confirmed. Madrid held intensive talks with RB Leipzig in recent weeks, while Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain were also interested.
Formalities still pending
Despite the reports, not every source is calling the move official yet. Leipzig’s sporting director said talks were still ongoing and that no contract had been signed, although he did not rule out a conclusion soon.
Romano had previously said Diomande’s personal agreement with Real Madrid had already been in place for some time, with only the transfer fee left to settle.
If completed, the winger would become one of the centrepieces of Real Madrid’s next project under José Mourinho, after his form in the Bundesliga and for Ivory Coast drew attention across Europe.
