Ramos weighs coaching after future playing career

Sergio Ramos is considering a move into coaching as he works out what comes next after his playing career, according to AS. The Spanish defender has not ruled out continuing as a player, but he is also preparing for the possibility of life on the bench.

Coaching path opens up

AS reports that Ramos wants to begin the courses and formal training required to qualify for a coaching licence. That would mark a clear step towards management, even if it does not mean an immediate switch to the dugout.

The 40-year-old has remained without a club since his spell with Monterrey ended at the end of last year. He has not announced retirement, and he has kept up physical training while he assesses his options.

Playing future still not closed

Ramos had also explored a return to Sevilla in recent months, but that route did not come off. For now, his next move in football remains undecided.

One possibility is a future on the touchline, drawing on years of experience with Real Madrid, Spain and several top-level coaches. But for now, the key issue is simply finding the right path for the next stage of his career.
