Real Madrid are close to extending Thibaut Courtois's contract until the end of June 2028, according to AS. The Belgian goalkeeper is in the final year of his current deal, and the club do not want to wait until the end of the season to sort out his future.
Courtois set for new deal
AS says Madrid believe the 34-year-old has earned a fresh contract after his performances for the club. The report also states that Courtois has turned down offers with better financial terms because he wants to stay at Real Madrid.
Kobel monitored, then ruled out
The same report says Borussia Dortmund's Swiss goalkeeper Gregor Kobel was recently offered to Madrid and followed closely by the club. Madrid ultimately decided against pursuing a move for him.
