Yamal becomes youngest La Liga player to reach 50 assists

Yamal sets new La Liga benchmark

Lamine Yamal set up two goals in Barcelona’s 3-1 win over Sevilla and became the youngest La Liga player since at least the 2013-14 season to reach 50 assists.

The 19-year-old, aged 19 years and 68 days, now has 51 assists in 159 senior appearances for Barcelona across all competitions. Both of his assists at Sevilla went to Raphinha, whose hat-trick helped Hansi Flick’s side keep their perfect league record and stay top.

Vinícius record falls behind

The previous mark belonged to Vinícius Júnior. The Real Madrid winger reached 50 assists for the club in May 2023, when he was 22 years and 298 days old.

That puts Yamal 3 years and 230 days ahead of the Brazil international on the same milestone. His return at Sevilla underlined how often he has driven Barcelona’s attacks, with his passing once again decisive in a three-goal away win.
