France vs Belgium 4-1

France came from behind to beat Belgium 4-1 at Stade de France, turning the game after the break and ending it with three late goals. Belgium led at half-time, and France finished with four unanswered goals.

Dodi Lukebakio put Belgium ahead in the 35th minute, converting from Romeo Lavia to make it 1-0. That was the only goal before the break, and France went in 1-0 down.

France made two changes on 60 minutes and another on 61, and the response came after more substitutions on 72 minutes. Désiré Doue, who came on in the 72nd minute, equalised in the 77th minute from Lucas Da Cunha to make it 1-1, before Rayan Cherki, also a 60th-minute substitute, restored the lead in the 81st minute from Michael Olise. Michael Olise then made it 3-1 in the 88th minute from Doue, who had come on in the 72nd minute, and Olise scored again three minutes into stoppage time, again assisted by Doue, to seal a 4-1 win. Belgium made two changes on 70 minutes and three more on 87, but could not stop the shift in the scoreline.

France had 66% of the ball, 692 passes to Belgium’s 359, and 23 shots to five. They also led 8-2 on shots on target and 9-2 on corners, while Belgium had five saves to France’s one and each side finished with one offside.

Romeo Lavia was booked for Belgium in the 57th minute, Maxence Lacroix saw yellow for France in the 69th, and Belgium’s Mark van Bommel and Joaquin Seys were booked in the 73rd and 75th minutes.
