RB Leipzig vs Manchester City 2-3

Manchester City came from two goals down to win 3-2 at RB Leipzig, with Erling Haaland's 78th-minute strike completing the turnaround after Leipzig had led 2-0 and then 3-1. The visitors had more of the ball and more control of the numbers, but Leipzig held the advantage for most of the night.

Leipzig went ahead in the 37th minute when Castello Junior Lukeba put through his own net, and Ridle Baku made it 2-0 on 49 minutes from Brajan Gruda's assist. That left Leipzig 1-0 up at half-time, after a first half in which the home side had also picked up bookings for Christoph Baumgartner and Ridle Baku.

Manchester City pulled one back in the 58th minute through Enzo Fernández, set up by Iliman Ndiaye, before Antonio Nusa restored Leipzig's two-goal lead three minutes later from Christopher Nkunku's assist. City kept coming, and Haaland's goal on 78 minutes, from Elliot Anderson, made it 3-2 before a late spell in which Leipzig made two changes on 74 minutes and City made three on 83 minutes. Leipzig's substitutions included Antonio Nusa, while City also withdrew Enzo Fernández and Iliman Ndiaye.

The numbers pointed to a City edge in possession, with 65% of the ball and 673 passes to Leipzig's 35% and 359, while they also had more expected goals, 2.32 to 0.84. Leipzig still finished with more shots, 13-12, more on target, 6-5, more corners, 5-3, and more fouls, 20-6. City had 5 offsides to Leipzig's 3 and the saves count was 3-4.

Leipzig were booked four times, for Christoph Baumgartner in the 17th minute, Ridle Baku in the 33rd, Neil El Aynaoui in the 48th and David Raum in the 77th. Manchester City's only yellow card went to Jeremy Doku in the 88th minute, and Abdukodir Khusanov was booked three minutes into stoppage time.
