Erling Haaland has become the first player since Gerd Müller to score at least seven goals in his first four World Cup appearances.
The Norway forward struck twice against Brazil at the 2026 World Cup, taking his tally to seven goals in four matches and writing another piece of history. His brace also helped Norway reach the quarter-finals of a World Cup for the first time.
Haaland had been rested for Norway's final group game against France after their place in the knockout stage was already secured.
Müller, the former West Germany striker, was the last player to hit that mark, scoring eight times across his first four matches at the 1970 World Cup.
Haaland's return has underlined his threat in front of goal, and he now has a chance to add more records as the tournament continues.
