Lecce vs Juventus 0-2

Juventus left Stadio Via del Mare with a 2-0 win after two first-half goals put Lecce under pressure before the break. Weston McKennie opened the scoring in the 29th minute, and Douglas Luiz Soares added the second on 41 minutes.

Lecce made two changes at half-time, sending on Joel Almada Monteiro for Amar Fatah and Jamil Siebert for Mohamed Kaba, but Juventus had already done the damage. McKennie’s goal came from Douglas Luiz Soares, who then turned scorer himself from Federico Gatti’s assist to make it 2-0 before the interval, and the half-time score stayed 0-2.

After the restart, Lecce kept pushing without finding a reply and made more changes on 60 and 71 minutes, with Corrie Ndaba, Paco Esteban and later Nikola Stulic coming on. Juventus made two changes of their own on 68 minutes, with Juan Cabal and Jérémie Boga replacing Andrea Cambiaso and Randal Kolo Muani, then Pape Matar Sarr and Kerim Alajbegovic came on in the closing stages as the visitors saw the game out.

Lecce had 42% possession and 333 passes to Juventus’s 474, but they still finished with more shots, 16 to 8, more shots on target, 4 to 2, and more corners, 5 to 3. Expected goals were close at 1.02 to 1.13, and Juventus also recorded 4 offsides to Lecce’s 2 and 4 saves to Lecce’s 0.

Kialonda Gaspar was booked for Lecce in the 76th minute, and Lecce also had a red card in the match.
